This spring it was
Westfield Mount Druitt’s turn for a refurbishment. A popular
centre right next door to Mount Druitt train station, Westfield
wanted their customers to have a shopping environment that was
fresh and inviting – somewhere they would want to spend the
day.

Charged
with the overhaul, WISHART Design gave the Centre a total workout.
The innovative designs made people look up – literally. WISHART
put arresting graphics on the ceiling blades and skylight panels
and added internal and external banners to create a new feel and
a sense of light, space and freshness.
The ceiling and skylight graphics were printed
directly onto pre cut 6mm acrylic, it saved installation time and
avoided the tedious task of installing adhesive vinyl onto acrylic
high in the ceiling. A wood grain ‘wallpaper’ was created
by Red Square Design using a scanned wood sample then printed onto
Vutek Self Adhesive Vinyl.
Banners were used to give the space impact whilst allowing light
to shine through. The Centre Court banners were hung along
the curve of the floor plan. An interchangeable hanging system
was designed to allow the graphics to be easily updated.
“The change was immediate,” said Westfield’s
Michael Reynolds. “The Centre looks much brighter. We
were impressed with the results.”
Now Westfield Mount Druitt customers can settle
back into some serious shopping in style. |
