Now in its second year, the ENERGEX Arbour Contemporary Art Prize in Brisbane provides a high-profile platform for professional photographers to showcase their talents in a unique outdoor environment. The finalists in the competition are displayed on large, durable, high-quality Vutek prints, hung on steel structures arching over a main walkway within Brisbane’s South Bank – making it one of Australia’s only outdoor art galleries.

The winning entry “Lap Pool” by Rodney Glick

In order to make the most of the existing structure, vinyl banners were printed and installed using rectangular tubular frames that attached to the ENERGEX Arbour structure via a series of clamps. The finished product was durable, able to withstand the Sunshine State’s environment, and does justice to the beauty of the art works.

The theme of this year’s competition was “Australians at Play”. The winning entry, Lap Pool, by Rodney Glick, will be on show along the ENERGEX Arbour with the other finalists until December 13. The exhibition is free and open from 5am until midnight. If you can catch it, be sure to send us a review!

The exisiting structure presented a unique opportunity to display the competition finalists.
