Colour
co-ordinate your life with colourEverything |
 |
|
Enter
a world of new possibilities with colourEverything -
innovative custom design collections that can literally
let you
colour everything - wallpaper, mural paper, window film,
fabric and ready to hang artworks. Simon Aldous, an Art/Creative
Director with 17 years experience in four countries,
offers a range of designs and artworks for sale that
can be colour matched and sized to your specific requirements,
including funky retro prints, rich deco patterns, bold
nudes and personalised pop art.
Simon
developed the colourEverything concept whilst studying
in France. He noticed the revived
popularity of wallpaper
combined with digital images used in creating themed environments
in hotels and bars. On his return to Australia he saw the
market potential for printing co-ordinate designs on different
materials such as canvas, wallpaper, fabric and glass films
to create truly unique spaces. These are not limited
to bars and hotels, but can be applied to retail concepts
as
well. After seeing the recent Flash wallpaper competition,
Simon approached Flash to help make his concept a reality.

| Design
company 2PLIK8 from Brisbane had a unique project. Their
client, Tent of Promise, runs a travelling church ministry
and expo and wanted to produce a 30m x 2m one-piece “panorama” graphic
banner illustrating the story of the bible from the beginning
of the Old Testament right through to the end of the New
Testament. The original brief was to create a vinyl ‘gloss’ look. |
 |
  |
| Peter
and George, 2PLIK8 designers |
 |
|
The
approach
Flash believed that vinyl would not travel well and
could end up looking a bit tired. The artwork designers;
George Alhatis
and Peter Carlos, were presented with the alternative of
Polycotton, which hangs well and has a tactile look and
feel.
George
and Peter, at first sceptical, were impressed with the
way
that the Polycotton “added a touch of old school
and class” to a piece that would have otherwise
been no more than an indoor billboard. The product also
lends
itself well to ageing by creating an “historical” feel
that will fit well with the religious element of its
environment.
The
outcome
The finished panorama was a resounding success, and
2PLIK8 was pleased with the reaction of Tent of Promise, “
They were awed at the final product we presented to them,” said
Peter.
If
Polycotton is
the product you’ve been
praying for, or you’d like to know more about
this project, email philip.hargrave-smith@flash.com.au or

| Win
tickets to see Sydney Dance Company's "Shades of Gray" |
|
 |
Flash
Photobition continues its association with the Sydney Dance
Company and is offering you the chance to win tickets to Graeme
Murphy’s new full-length work, Shades of Gray, to be
performed by the acclaimed dance company in Sydney, Brisbane,
Melbourne and Canberra.
Set
amongst the heady club and fashion scene of the last few decades
of the 20th century, the work
cuts a swathe through the destructive
decadence of this time. Underpinning the voyage is a multi-layered
score drawing on an eclectic collection of music from contemporary
classical to iconic 80s pop.
Flash
Photobition has two Shades of Gray A Reserve tickets to giveaway
for each of the following
performances: Sydney Opera
House, on
Thursday 27 May & Monday 31 May; The Playhouse at QPAC
in Brisbane, Thursday 17 June & Tuesday 22 June; The State
Theatre at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, Friday 2 July and
Tuesday 6
July and
The Playhouse at the Canberra Theatre Centre, 15 July.
To
win tickets, simply visit the Sydney Dance Company website:
www.sydneydancecompany.com,
and find out which character
Shades of Gray is based on. Email jacqueline.conway@flash.com.au with
