Another month has flown by and once again
it is a shock to realise that we are halfway through the
year.
Our project snapshots include a recent project
with JOi fashion retailer
on a unique range of sale promotional material, and
a project with WDAC,
turning an old cramped shopfront into a high-end apartment
showroom.
This is your last chance
to enter the Flash Retail Display
Awards – with $5000
up for grabs who needs another reason? Also, Sydney Opera
House is offering News Flash readers discount
tickets for their latest show, “Mum’s the Word”.

JOi's Visual Communications
Co-ordinator,
Yvette Gleim was delighted with the final product
|
|
If there
is one thing that binds us all, it’s a sale. Whether it’s
fashion or hi-fi equipment, everyone’s eyes light up when
the S-A-L-E sign goes up. While for customers it’s something
to look forward to, it can be a very involving process for retailers
who often have to source new display items or systems for each
promotion.
|
  |
| JOi
knows how to have a blinder of a sale |
The approach
Women’s
fashion retailer JOi recently undertook a re-branding process
that involved a re-design of everything from stationary,
bags and labels to point-of-sale systems. As part of this process
JOi developed the novel concept of printing retractable blinds
with the word SALE on them, to be unveiled when required. The blind
concept was developed to be a permanent feature that could be applicable
to each individual store without costly adjustments.
The outcome
Material was provided by Shaw Australia
to print on using the Vutek 5300. After testing its suitability
prints were produced,
then
sent to Jaffa Productions in Adelaide for the finishing of the
blinds.
JOi's Visual Communications Co-ordinator, Yvette
Gleim was delighted with the final product.
“
We are absolutely happy, they are just beautiful. Everyone who
has seen the blinds comments on them, they are certainly eye-catching,” said
Yvette.

As high-end apartment
living continues to be an attractive prospect for many people,
Flash is helping several clients to add value to real estate
display suites.
|
  |
| WDAC
recreates high-end style |
The approach
WDAC is
a full service ad agency specialising in real estate, project
marketing and point-of-sale media. Recently WDAC needed to
turn a tired old shopfront
into a high-end display suite for the Nido Apartments at Crows Nest. The
display suite had to be temporary as the site was to be demolished, yet
it was also required to look and feel permanent.
The outcome
The Nido apartments are targeting a
high end, discernible market and it was important that the
display suite reflected and
complemented the high
quality image of the
apartments. Metallic Lambda prints provided the class that was required.
The prints were face mounted to 6mm acrylic and provided
a very polished finish.
The mounting behind acrylic added more depth and texture and gave the suite
a very stylish look and feel. Computer cut vinyl lettering was applied
to the mirrors,
which created interest for viewers when they were up close. Mirrors were
also used between the photographic prints, expanding
the perceived area of the
display suite.
While WDAC and Flash were proud of the finished
suite,
it is the prospects that count. The finished display was a major
success,
attracting 80 interested
parties in
its opening weekend. You can check it out for yourself at 26 Clarke St,
Crows
Nest.
