This month’s broadcast contains a new Q&A section. If there are any graphic matters puzzling you, there’s a good chance there are other people out there wondering exactly the same thing. So send me your queries and we’ll do our best to answer them in our next broadcast.

Congratulations to the winners of our Sydney Theatre Company, Way of the World competition. Hope you all enjoyed the show! Our ticket giveaway this month is for a family pass to Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. Good luck!

Sanderson Group

Flash Photobition worked with theme construction specialists, the Sanderson Group, to produce graphics for Dreamworld’s new Nick Central area. When commenting on the benefits of digital printing, Sanderson Group project coordinator, Hamish Jackson says “Originally, these items were to be produced as mural artwork but the digital printing provided an economic, quick, hassle free and high quality solution. We are very happy with the final result, in fact, it turn out better than we had imagined.”

Wishart Design

Eastgardens Shopping Centre has had a complete makeover. Wishart Design, who was appointed to conceptualise and execute the project, explained that the graphics used are in keeping with Westfield's long term commitment to tailor each complex to its demographic. The refurbishment involved graphics applied to indoor bulk-heads and PhotoMesh™ applied to various large scale frames throughout the complex.

Main: DIY hanging system. Bottom: Banners coming off the Vutek 5300.

Bing Lee recently installed do-it-yourself (DIY) graphic hanging systems in 26 of their stores. When consulting retailers, we encourage them to consider how frequently their store changes its graphics and whether it may be worthwhile for them to invest in a DIY system. Bing Lee's new DIY system is not only a huge money saver, the simple installation process makes it easy to keep each store looking its best.

For our new premises in Canberra, we wanted to surprise our customers with something totally out of the ordinary. Inspired by 1950s pop art, our latest design plan is to cover the windows with a series of bold, out-there posters over a backdrop of crazy Lichtenstein-style dots. The look is definitely kitsch, possibly cool, tasteful... well, we're not too sure. The window will be completed by mid-March, so you'll have to drop in and decide for yourself.

Our new Canberra office is located at 61 Kembla St, Fyshwick.

Question: How long will a photographic print last?

Answer: For our photographic prints, we only use Kodak paper. According to Kodak, in typical indoor display conditions, prints will last up to 70 years before you'll begin to notice any fading. When this change does eventually occur, however, Kodak ensures that with their current generation of materials, any fading between colours is even.
