Inside Terminal 21 - Bangkok's newest shopping experience Opened in October 2011, Terminal 21 is arranged in themed levels. There are nine floors, each its own designated city with a recognisable landmark. There's Rome above Paris, then Tokyo, London, Istanbul, San Francisco and at the very top, Hollywood.
Rome, ground floor, and Paris, first floor, have a mix of local and international brands. Don’t expect anything out of the ordinary when it comes to the international brands but watch out for the local element - something new and interesting.
The real highlight is one level up, Tokyo, for women. Where local designers' shops are presented in a market-like rows. Many of the designers have migrated from Chatuchak Market itself. Market shopping prices in blissful air-conditioning and department store service - too tempting!
Next up is San Francisco over two levels, with well known restaurants chains and the more interesting "Pier 21" food court.
Pier 21, on the upper level, is styled around street vendor food, where each dish is priced around 25-35 baht. If you're not up to eating on the street it's a great way to sample real Thai street food. There's also a great range of food from south east Asia.
And then there's Hollywood at the top with an eight-screen cinema complex, of course. Eat, shop, be entertained, exercise, and travel across continents with just an easy ride up the escalator. It has particular appeal for the younger generation of shoppers, the diversity is good and price tag even better! To view all 300 photos of Terminal 21 click here ![]() |
