A New Look for "A Current Affair"

Evening look perspective

Recently, Channel 9 approached Ambience Entertainment, who specialise in television broadcast design, production and creating special effects for TV commercials. Ambience was commissioned to create an entire new look for their top rating show A Current Affair, presented by Mike Munroe.

What began as a great idea evolved into both a technical and logistical challenge for both Ambience and Photobition, who together had to create Australia's largest backlit TV studio set.

Ambience Producer, Michelle Turner said... "Photobition were with us through every step of the testing and installation process. Their expertise on large backlit vinyls, like the ones we've used were invaluable and in many instances, problems during the testing and installation process quickly had solutions due to Photobition's Geoff Warren who was on site for us every step of the way".

A Current Affair goes to air every weeknight at 6.30pm from a studio set that is arguably Australia's largest and for television standards, the most lavish - take a look and please don't hesitate to call Channel 9 to congratulate them on a great new look!

Lancome Booth for L'Oreal

3D Rendering

Designing a display booth can be both time-consuming and difficult to visualise.

Photobition can help you, by 3D rendering your display from a supplied brief. This means you can choose to place and move furniture elements in a 3 dimensional set, until you're happy with the result.

Designing the Lancome booth was no different, however, we were still "physically" moving furniture on the day!

Vutek hoarding

This joint venture project by Consolidated Properties and PRD Realty will comprise of retail, office space and riverfront apartments.

Photobition Qld provided a complete graphic solution to support marketing strategies in securing pre-construction sales. The external hoarding, (the largest of its kind in Brisbane) was output by our Vutek 5300 printer. The 22.9m x 3m image was output as one complete graphic and was a perfect job for the Vutek 5300. In addition, we printed and installed the showroom graphics for the sales office located on the 20th floor of the Brisbane Riverside Centre. This consisted of a manufactured illumination box with a 3m x 700mm photographic Duratrans image, photographic floorplan, lifestyle and sample board images mounted and suspended through high-tension chrome floor to ceiling cable systems.

An excellent project that utilised many of the "State of the Art" in-house resources that Photobition Qld has to offer.

The Australian Museum Presents the "Catching...The Harbour" Exhibition

"Catching... The Harbour" delves into Sydney Harbour, exploring harbour marine resources, biodiversity, indigenous history and the archaeology of the harbour.

"Catching...The Harbour" draws together objects from the Australian Museum's priceless collections as well as historical artworks, rare books, underwater film, newsreel, home movies, fibre-optic installation and multimedia artworks.

Designed by Emma Duval, the graphic, text and showcase panels were printed by Photobition on the new "Lambda Metallic" photographic paper.

Everyday we are finding new applications for "Metallic" paper. At first we thought that this paper was suitable mainly for retail applications but as more designers catch on to its unique look & feel we realise that the scope for usage is enormous.

Emma's note to Photobition, "In regard to all the work you and your team have done for our "Catching... The Harbour" exhibition, it all looks great, especially the new Metallic Lambda prints, they look even better than I had expected. In fact it is difficult to distinguish them from the anodised aluminum panels - they look so metallic!"

The "Catching... The Harbour" exhibition runs from 21 July 2001 to 10 February 2002, 9.30am-5pm. General entry: Adult $8, Child $3, Family $19, Concession $4.

The Australian Museum has kindly donated 20 family passes to the exhibition. If you would like to be in the running for a pass please click here.
